After skipping the Portuguese round due to an ankle injury sustained while playing football, Lorenzo Bertelli confirmed he will partake in next week’s Rally Italia Sardegna. The Italian driver completed two testing days with MSport in Gallura ahead of the forthcoming rally without any problems.

“My ankle is a bit sore after two testing days – declared Bertelli – but it did not give me any problem when I was driving. Things went well in testing, I will be fit for the rally. I just need to focus on the race now”. Bertelli’s objective is to finish within the top ten. “I certainly want to finish in the top ten – he commented – my intention was to push hard since the beginning, but I would have needed to race in Portugal to come to Italy and push hard. As it stands, I will have to start pushing gradually during the rally. I will have a better picture on my physical conditions after the shakedown, but things are fine now and there is still time to improve further”. M-Sport tests started on Wednesday with Mads Ostberg at the wheel, they continued today with Eric Camilli and will end tomorrow with Ott Tanak in the car.
